When Is The Time for the Saving Word?

After you have read the article on Rick Warren's message to Muslims, consider this.

Paul said Christ crucified was his only concern. Paul said the message of the cross will offend and be foolish. Paul said you live godly in Christ Jesus, you'll be persecuted. Paul said he became all things to see some saved. When and where would Rick say: NOW bring in Christ crucified?

People cross over into eternity every hour. Then it's too late. Paul said NOW is the day of salvation. Paul said they are only saved by the message of the cross. Where is a sense of urgency in the message "Christ crucified, now!?"

I can only go by the sound words of Jesus (not a couple, and not a couple out of context), and I can only go by the teaching that conforms to godliness only for those saved and are glad WHEN they heard and were. They thank God for someone who spoke of the cross . . . THEN.

Fellowship

Many liked The Fellowship of The Ring. That motion picture trilogy attracted all kinds of people. They all had a common bond around that story. We think of fellowships in other ways. Someone may get a "fellowship" at a University or some other popular institution. We may think of fellowship with a few close friends around bread in an ancient setting. So, we like the idea of fellowship.

When it comes to fellowship from God's view, it is really important in relation to His will for our lives. All believers and followers of Jesus Christ are members of His spiritual body on earth. It is the Body of Christ, His Church, or The Bride of Christ. We are certainly called to fellowship with this body of believers, but fellowship is more than a meal. It is being an active part of His body where we function according to the will of the Head of the body.

Are you there? Are you connected? Is your life of fellowship with believers in a local church helping them to be edified and grow healthy? This is the will of God, His command, and His means of nourishment to the body. If you are not there, perhaps you need to "join" the body of Christ by inviting Jesus Christ to indwell you, then the motivation and the nourishment will begin to flow through you from the Head to the body. Then you will know fellowship with others in the local church you are a part of and you will know His nourishment in your life.

Evolutionism's Vapid Nature

Vapid is actually a word. I came across it when I was reading a criticism of creation by an evolutionist. He felt that creation science was vapid. But consider what vapid actually means.

Vapid is an adjective that means "offering nothing that is stimulating or challenging." In other words, this evolutionist was obviously not awestruck by the thought of God creating with means far beyond our comprehension. He wanted a naturalistic explanation for
everything. But how dull can that be? Think about it.

Suppose you could get beyond the so-called big bang and figure out with your finite mind how nothing could create something. Suppose you could figure out how that first living cell came into being without any hypothesizing. You would have figured out the start of it all. Then what? Whatever it was you discovered as the first cause in a naturalistic way would drive you to forever insist on a naturalistic cause for that, and so on, and so on. Ad infinitum, as they say. And the truth is, it could only end up with something supernatural. Or else you would be forever frustrated with not naturally finding that First Cause. Nothing more needs to be said.

That takes us back to where we started. How vapid can you get when all you are seeking is the natural and not the supernatural? In other words, how vapid can you get when you are not seeking God? It is He Himself who has said, "You shall seek Me and you shall find Me when you seek Me with all your heart and soul."

What an exploration to know increasingly this One who called the heavens and the earth and all life into being by the power of His Word. No matter what they say, don't settle for anything less. Don't settle for any thing natural. Don't settle for anything vapid. Otherwise, you will never find fulfillment. God has made us for Himself and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in God.

To know God He would have to come down to our level. And how could God become a man? Talk about a
vapidless thought! But this is how we can know God, through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. In His tremendous love, He died for the only thing that keeps people from being reconciled to God; our sin. He conquered death on the third day by rising from the grave that we would have eternal life. And now He lives that we might know God. He really is not far from us. Listen with your heart and you can accept Him.
